Wake-up your kiddos breakfast with these healthy and fast ideas.
1) Cereal Sundae! Start with a high-fiber cereal and mix it with your choice of milk (regular, or soy/almond flavored) or yogurt (this makes portable!) Let your kiddos add fresh or dried fruit such as blueberries, raspberries or bananas. Chopped nuts can also add a healthy punch of protein to keep your kiddos going throughout the day!
2) Quick and easy! Stock your fridge with drinkable yogurts or low-sugar go-gurts, pre-sliced cheese and fresh fruit. Stock your pantry with healthy granola bars, and pre-portioned nuts. One of my kiddos favorite breakfasts is apple slices, a cheese slice and a hand full of almonds. I can prep this balanced breakfast the night before and grab it on the way out the door for car-pool!
3) A.M. Pizza or PB&J. Mix up breakfast with these lunch staples! Toast a slice of bread, spread ricotta or cottage cheese on top and add sliced grape tomatoes to the top. Sprinkle your breakfast pizza with salt & pepper. For the PB & J toast a whole-wheat waffle, lightly spread with peanut butter and sprinkle with raisins.
